What is a virality score?+
A virality score is a metric we calculate based on your post's engagement rate, growth velocity, and weighted engagement. It helps you understand how well your content is performing compared to typical posts. A higher score indicates stronger viral potential. We analyze factors like the ratio of interactions to views, how quickly your metrics are growing, and the quality of engagement (comments and shares are weighted higher than likes).
Which social media platforms are supported?+
popn currently supports TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. You can track videos, reels, shorts, and regular posts across all three platforms. We're constantly working on adding support for more platforms based on user feedback.
How often are metrics updated?+
We automatically update your post metrics throughout the day. The exact frequency depends on your subscription plan. Free users get daily updates, while paid plans receive more frequent updates. Our system also performs a comprehensive refresh every day at 6 AM UTC to ensure accuracy.
Do I need to link my social media accounts?+
No! One of popn's key features is that you don't need to link or connect your social media accounts. Simply paste the URL of any public post and we'll start tracking it. This makes setup instant and keeps your accounts secure.
How do email alerts work?+
You can configure custom alert thresholds for each metric (views, likes, comments, etc.). When your post crosses a threshold, we'll send you an instant email notification. You can also enable daily summary emails that provide an overview of all your tracked posts' performance.
Is there a free plan?+
Yes! Our free plan lets you track up to 3 posts with daily metric updates. It's perfect for trying out popn or for casual creators. If you need to track more posts or want more frequent updates and advanced features, check out our paid plans.
Can I track posts that aren't mine?+
Yes, you can track any public post on supported platforms. This is useful for competitive analysis, tracking trending content in your niche, or monitoring collaborations. Just paste the URL and we'll start tracking.
What happens to my data if I cancel?+
Your historical data is retained for 30 days after cancellation. During this time, you can reactivate your account and access your data. After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted. You can also request immediate data deletion at any time through your account settings.
How accurate is the virality detection?+
Our AI-powered virality detection analyzes multiple signals including engagement rate, growth velocity, and historical patterns. While no prediction is 100% accurate, our system has been trained on millions of posts and can detect trending content with high reliability. We're constantly improving our algorithms based on new data.
Can I export my data?+
Yes, paid plans include the ability to export your tracking data in CSV format. This includes all historical metrics, virality scores, and engagement data. Free users can view their data in the dashboard but cannot export.
